Adult Education Class
Karin Donaldson and Rick Brusch created a great opportunity for RTB-SD to introduce Reasons to Believe in La Jolla. Rick is a member of La Jolla Presbyterian and RTB-SD, and Karin is LJPres' Director of Adult Education. As a result of Karin and Rick's success with these events LJPres is asking for a Dr. Hugh Ross event in March '05.
In each of the three Sunday events LJPres/RTB-SD drew about 90 people. RTB-SD presenters were Mark Ritter, John Ray, and Dr. Tom English. John also ran the resource table, selling books, tapes, and DVDs. Dr. Kent Kimberly, Dr. Rick Brusch, and Kurt Lightfoot provided Q&A and booster support.
 1st Sunday: Mark Ritter presented the big picture by connecting the overall pattern of Genesis One to scientific observation. For many in attendance Mark's presentation was their first experience applying original Hebrew to interpret Genesis and linking Genesis One to modern scientific observation. This theme was carried through all three Sundays.
2nd event: John Ray presented the intelligent design details of the physical creation events in the first half of Genesis One. John is below manning the resource table in the 3rd event. By the end of the 3rd Sunday John was sold out on several items. John's "free" pamphlets were popular and they draw people to the table. The pamphlets provide quick answers to key questions and lead the reader to additional resources on the main RTB web site.
 3rd event: Dr. Tom English links the creation of life sequence in Genesis One to the observation of intelligent design in living systems and how the fossil record is consistent with "according to their kinds" in Genesis. Dr. Tom's monkey math was a big hit, as were the clips from the Unlocking the Mystery of Life DVD.
